Digital Camcorders

We offer a selection of camcorders that meet the needs and budgets of schools. We carry brands that offer the features teachers want, at prices schools need.

HDD:
HDD camcorders record high quality video onto an internal hard drive, similar to the way files are stored on a computer or MP3 player. Extremely large storage capacities are what have made these camcorders so popular.

DVD:
DVD camcorders use either Mini DVD-R, DVD-RW or DVD-RAM media. These camcorder discs usually produce between 30 and 120 minutes of video per disc. DVD-R media can be played on almost all traditional DVD players, but cannot be added to or recorded over once finalized. DVD-RW media can be overwritten, but costs more than DVD-R discs and may not be compatible with older DVD players. DVD-RAM media can be added to or recorded over, but is pricier tan other DVDs and can not be played by traditional DVD players.

Blu-Ray
Blu-Ray camcorders use Blu-Ray discs. These discs have a 7.5GB capacity and hold about 60 minutes of high definition video. Blu-ray camcorders use a blue-violet laser to achieve the capacity necessary for high-definition content. While this media is the most expensive, it does have a protective coating that protects the disc's surface from scratches, dust and fingerprints.
